Hip Hop and the GOP

July 31, 2009 by Craig | No comments yet

Here’s an interesting article written for CityBeat.com, a Cincinnati-based online publication. The article considers the parallels between Hip-Hop and the Republican party, mainstream vs. fringe sub-cultres of both, and what we should look forward to in the future. Here’s an exerpt:

According to a recent USA Today/Gallop poll, about 52 percent of Americans could not identify who officially spoke for the Republican Party. And according to the same pollsters, even fewer said they held a favorable view of their own party.

Mikey McFly™: A Lessondary Day in Philly…

July 29, 2009 by Craig | No comments yet

Mikey McFly had quite a time after the Red Bull Music Academy Afterparty. He ran into all sorts of folks…including TM.

…I even got the chance to interview Tanya Morgan on the roof of the studio for their 215 Magazine Interview. I was given a glimpse of the life that I wanted to live, almost as if I was given a sip of Cherry Kool-Aid after a long hot sun drenched July afternoon. I’m thankful…

So I signed up for Yoga classes…

maaaan…

that shit was NO joke, you do all this stretching and bending in a room thats 105 degrees and man oh man do you feel it. i have never in my life sweated that much, ever. i signed up for a full week and my goal is to make 4 classes. the instructor says i did good today because i made it thru the entire 90 minutes without leaving the room. i dinstinctly remember almost passing out at least 2 times. shit has me pretty worn out. like i have other work to do and all i feel like doing right now is sleeping so i think i just might go ahead and go to sleep early tonight. early being before midnight. maybe tomorrow will be easier, i hear it wont. My goal tomorrow is to make it thru the entire standing portion standing. i had to sit down midway thru that shit lol.

yall ever tried this stuff?
